You don’t always need new locks
A common misconception is that a lock has to be replaced when you lose a key or need a different one. In most cases it doesn’t. Rekeying changes the inside of the lock so a new key works and every old key stops working.
When to rekey
- You’ve moved into a new home.
- Keys are lost or stolen.
- A tenant, ex-partner or staff member hasn’t returned keys.
- You want one key for every door.
Rekey or replace?
If your locks work well, rekeying is usually the cheaper option. If a lock is worn or you want better security, we’ll recommend a replacement and fit it the same visit.
